Carlota Bentham


Carlota (Lotty) is a renowned Colombian jewelry designer from the Caribbean region. Her work has been showcased throughout the Americas and Europe. She is an experienced trainee from the Loris Ribolsi Studio in Varese, Italy, designed silk prints for Versace in Como, Italy, and jewelry for GEM Montebello in Milano, Italy.
Artist, mask maker and costume designer, as well jewelry designer in Bogotá, Colombia, her numerous works have been exhibited and featured in major theatre productions, gallery exhibitions and runway shows; And in Panama, where she has designed and crafted a series of collections inspired on the abundant culture, nature and history of the small country as a tribute to its beauty.
Her mastery of design and technique showcases both traditional and modern craftsmanship, such as the use of one-of-a kind hand carved cameos made from ethically sourced Queen Helmet conch; filigree from Mompox and metal pierce-work from native Meso-American cultures; incorporating Emeralds and other precious and semi-precious stones, all set in 925 silver with 24k gold plating.
Each piece is unique and has been handmade with love in Colombia by Lotty herself, her children, and her small team of artisans.
She currently resides in Barranquilla, where she has her studio in her ancestral home.
